“The Final Gift is Webster” accepted for publication in Like Frozen Statues of Flesh…

I received word that my short story “The Final Gift is Webster” will be published in Like Frozen Statues of Flesh (Joe Jablonski, Editor), an anthology of bizarro fiction from Static Movement. I’ll have two stories in this book (the first one to be accepted was “The Case of the Green Box”—see a couple posts down for more details on that). Cool.

“The Final Gift is Webster” is the first story I ever wrote involving a post-apocalypse zombie world. Granted, the zombie pandemic element in the story is peripheral, has very little to do with the story itself, but it’s in there—yo, like basil in Prego. Sure, I suppose it’s possible that, whilst smoking opium and sipping absinthe in my basement-dungeon, I wrote other zombie apocalypse stories before this time and then deleted them without having any recollection of doing so, but I don’t think so.
